I was thinking about our midweek service There were those who embraced what Holy spirit was doing. Some were reticent, but wanted it (they could not turn away). Some received it in a way that only the “wise religious sages” can. Some just watched and others supported others who needed a touch from the Father.
I remembered what our Pastor said as he and his wife walked up to the front for prayer. He looked at us and said, “Some of y’all will say, ‘You have gone up a thousand times for prayer.’ Maybe our time will be 1001.” I began to think of the Israelites in the desert, and though the Promise Land was “just steps away” they refused to go further. I thought to myself that I don’t want to miss out on the Promise Land. I immediately “heard”, “That is why that generation died in the desert and the next generation entered into the Promise (Numbers 13,14 NIV). I am looking for the generation ( Revelation 19:6-8) who is willing to enter into my Promises.
I began to glimpse how difficult it is to move forward when you are “old and sedentary”. Lord, please renew my mind (Romans 12:1,2)! The word, Generation, doesn’t just mean or is measured in years or decades. Generation can also reveal who is old or new “wine skin”. Those who can only go “this far and no further do not love Jesus less, they just do not love Jesus more.
REMEMBER: An entire generation died in the desert except for two men, Joshua and Caleb, but those two men would lead an entire nation into the Promises of God.
