More on worship

I was taking a shower this morning when I was reminded of a song by the Holy Spirit. Because this song is not on You tube, I Heart or Spotify, I will share the lyrics on my blog with you.

In Your Presence, Lord

“In your presence, Lord, is fullness of Joy and more; the fullness of Life itself; the fullness of Peace and health. And I want to stay here with You forever. How I want to stay here with You forever. You call me to wait upon Your hand. My life begins at Your command. You are the Light of my soul, and Your Light remains in me where ever I go. You stay with me, and I, I love You so.” Dan Walsh.

We fill up in God’s presence, like a sponge. We leave this presence so saturated with the power of His Love that anyone who comes into contact with us gets the spill over. A saturated sponge can not contain its content.

Some people just want to stay in His presence (on the mountain top), but a body of water must be free flowing to give life to its surroundings. A body of water that becomes stagnant becomes a putrid swamp. The people are in the valley. Have you ever noticed that water flows from the mountains down into the valleys below?

This is treasure is from God and is not to be hoarded, but given away (2Corinthians 4:4-15). Have you ever seen these shows about hoarders? Their house is full of stuff that is not being used and is of no use to anyone. It is covered by layers of dust, becomes a home to rodents, deteriorates and stinks. What a waste!

2Corinthians 5:14-6:2 (NIV): “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here. All this from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, the new creation has come: The old is gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For He says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Are you starting understand the necessity of worship? We can’t give what we don’t have. We need to spend time in God’s presence, getting to know the One we love, then we leave his presence full of Him, sharing our relationship with those who are lost. Worship is not for Sundays, but it is a continual way of Life (like breathing in and out) for us who believe.
