My middle sister and I were having a phone conversation concerning the Nativity. We were talking about how little people know about the Truth concerning the birth of Christ. She said that she has seen monkeys included in the Nativity scenes and Santa kneeling before Mary, giving her the baby Jesus. Though we laughed, we were also sober, and we prayed to the Lord that the Truth concerning his birth be shared.
Do you know the wise men were not present in Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth? Though three gifts were given: Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh, that does not mean there were only three wise men. Read Matthew 2.
We sing songs and watch movies that do not depict what actually took place, and it it has become what we believe instead of what God says in His Word. Even as I was going over the scriptures, after we were done talking, I found that we were in error in a point we were making. I’ll have to call her so that we are accurate in what we are sharing.
When my sister showed one skeptic what the Word of God said, the lady said she would have to have this verified by five other people. REALLY, YOU NEED FIVE OTHER PEOPLE TO VERIFY IF WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUE?
I encourage you to read the biblical account of Jesus’ birth in Matthew, chapters 1 and 2; Luke chapters 1:26-2:40; John 1:1-18.
I leave you with this passage from 1Timothy 3:16 (NIV):
“Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.”
How can we stand if we do not know what we are standing on or for? This is an opportunity, when people are more open than at any other time to hear the Gospel, The Good News.
This is the time, like no other to give the people we love (more importantly, people God loves) the best gift ever. Give it in Love. 2Timothy 4:1-5
Merry Christmas!
