Have you ever heard a secular song and you knew that if just a few words were changed or phrase was dropped, that it would be a song that would glorify God and encourage the believers of God. Have you ever heard a secular song that, once heard, you found hard to shake and you wished you could because there were no redeeming lyrics (words) to it.
The Holy Spirit gave me new lyrics to a song that is quite popular. Since God is the Song of Life, in obedience, I am going to share the lyrics here that He gave me.
I woke up to these words, 4/25/2023 at 0829. After each section. I will give the scriptures, Holy Spirit led me to. I am sharing these words to encourage believers and reach the lost.
The World Can’t Tell Me Nothin (To the tune of, “Old Town Road”)
I choose to walk the Narrow Road; that Holy Road few choose to go. (Repeat x2): Matthew 7:13,14; Luke 13:24-30; Isaiah 35:8-10.
Taking off my shoes, Lord; You’re the One who saved me. Shaking off the dust, Lord, from all that would enslave me. Putting on my white robe; praising You forever. Laying down my crown, Lord, because you are my Savior. Exodus 3:1-5; Joshua 5:13-15; Romans 6:16-23; Revelation 4; 5; 7:9-17.
The world can’t tell me nothin. The world can’t give me nothin. The world can’t sell me nothin. The world can’t give me nothin. 1 John 2:15-17; James 4:4-10; Proverbs 27:20; 1Corinthians 7:29-31.
I dash my idols to the ground, and choose the Life that’s Glory Bound. No more bondage, I am free in Jesus Christ, my Victory. Deuteronomy 30:11-20; Joshua 24:14-24; Romans 6:5-23; Psalm 60:11,12; 1 Corinthians 15:56-58; 1 John5:3-5.
The world can’t tell me nothin. The world can’t give me nothin. The world can’t sell me nothin. The world can’t give me nothin.
I choose to walk the Narrow Road; that Holy Road few choose to go. (Repeatx2)
Depressed, all stressed, what is there to live for? Can’t sleep, no peace, there’s no hope anymore. Darkness so thick, I can’t see. Tell me what is wrong with me. Psalm 23; 42; 43; 62:5-8; Matthew 6:25-34; Luke 12:22-34; Philippians 4:4-9; John 9.
I’ve round this mountain ten times or more until I lost me and was no more. I cried to Jesus, “Please rescue me!” He touched my heart and He set me free: Psalm 146; Matthew 14: 25-33; Romans 6:19-22; 1Peter 4:1-6; 2Corinthians 3:16-18; Revelation 1:4-6; John 3:16-21.
So the world can’t tell me nothin. The world can’t give me nothin. The world can’t sell me nothin. The world can’t give me nothin. (Repeat x2)
I choose to walk the Narrow Road; that Holy Road few choose to go. (Repeat x2)
