Holy Spirit reminded me of a hymn that I heard from childhood, I Surrender All. I am not going to say that all the hymns were anointed by God, but I will say that those hymns that were anointed by God then are still anointed by God now. These anointed hymns were written by people who either had an encounter or a relationship with God. It was out of that encounter and/or relationship that these powerful hymns were written. I am so glad that these men and women did not keep these hymns to themselves, but freely gave as they were freely given. I am grateful that God’s anointing is not like a fleeting or shifting shadow. If what I am saying to you sounds familiar to you it is, but as Paul said in his letter to the Philippians in chapter 3:1 (NIV), “…It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 (NIV).
To surrender means to give up everything you are and everything you have. It is especially important in our relationship with God because there is nothing we are or have that compares to what we will be and will have in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Philippians 3:1-16 (NIV).
I SURRENDER ALL
Vs1) All to Jesus I surrender, All to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live. I surrender all. I surrender all. All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all. Vs2) All to Jesus I surrender. Humbly at His feet I bow, Worldly pleasures all forsaken; Take me, Jesus, take me now. Vs3) All to Jesus I surrender, Make me Savior, wholly Thine; Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit, (Thank You for the Holy Spirit-my version), Truly know that Thou art mine. I surrender all. I surrender all. All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all. Vs4) All to Jesus I surrender, Lord, I give myself to Thee; Fill me with Thy love and power, let Thy blessing fall on me. Vs5) All to Jesus I surrender, Now I feel the sacred flame. Oh, the joy of full salvation! Glory, glory to His name! I surrender all, I surrender all. All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.
