Into the Light

Though a child of Light, a child of God, darkness will try to smother you. Just hold onto His perfect Word, and through the dark, He’ll lead you through to His Understanding, to His Specific Purpose, to His Will for you. Pamela M. McGee

As a Registered Nurse, I worked nights most of my career. I used to joke, when a patient would complain about me waking them up, “We are children of the night and this is what we do.” One patient found what I said unsettling. The Holy Spirit convicted me later saying, “Do not ever say again that you are a child of the night. You are a child of Light.”

1 Peter 2:9,10 (NIV): “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous Light. Once you were not a people, but now you are people of God; once you had not received Mercy, but now you have received Mercy.”

1 John 1:5-7 (NIV): “This is the message we have from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is NO darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the Truth. But if we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.”

John 1:4,5,9-13: “In Him was life and that Life was the Light of all mankind. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”…”The True Light that gives Light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all that did receive Him, to those who believed His name, He gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

This important to know in these dark days. Remember that the darkness (satan) cannot and will never be able to overcome the Light (Jesus). Revelation 12:7-12 (NIV).

This morning, November 1rst, 2023 at 6:49am, the Holy Spirit had me add John 1:1-3 (NIV) because the perfect Word IS Jesus: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.
