I know that I posted a blog on the 23rd of December, but the Holy Spirit spoke this to me this morning, and I want to be faithful to share what I heard.

John 8:42-44 (NIV): “Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me for I have come from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the Truth, for there is no Truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

I placed “native language” in italics for emphasis. What I heard was the following: “The first time satan lied was not to Adam and Eve in the Garden. The first time he lied was to himself”. Isaiah 14:12-15 (NIV) “How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to earth, you who once laid low the nations! You have said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. Read Ezekiel 28:11-19 (NIV).

Jesus said that He saw “satan fall like lightning from heaven”. Luke 10:18 (NIV). satan lied to (decieved) one third of the angels in heaven (UNDERSTAND THIS: two thirds of the angels in heaven were NOT deceived). Revelation 12 (NIV) talks about satan sweeping a third of the stars out of the sky and flinging them down to earth, and fighting against Michael and his angels, but not being strong enough and satan and his angels losing their place in heaven. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THE ENTIRE 12TH CHAPTER OF REVELATION.

MY POINT IS that satan is a liar. He is nothing but lies, and if he believed the lies he told himself, he would have no problems lying to us.

In 2024, lies will abound on a level we have never known before. We must keep our hearts fixed on Jesus, who is the Way, Truth and Life. John 14:6,7 (NIV).

Let’s go back to John 8:45-47 (NIV), after Jesus talks about satan being the father of lies: ” Yet because I tell the Truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the Truth, why don’t you believe me? Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

John 10:3-5 (NIV) says, “The gatekeeper opens the gate for him (the shepherd); and the sheep listen to His voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When He has brought out all His own sheep, He goes on ahead of them, and His sheep follow Him because they KNOW His voice. But they will NEVER follow a stranger; in fact they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

John 10:14-16 (NIV) says: “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep knows me-just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”

In Revelation 2 and 3 (NIV), Each letter to the the seven churches ends with, “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

It is imperative that we not only hear, but know the voice of our Lord and Savior. It is a matter of Life and Death for us who know Him and those who will come to know Him through us.

“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now CHOOSE life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice and hold fast to Him. FOR THE LORD IS YOUR LIFE, and He will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:19,20 (NIV). I suggest you read Deuteronomy 30:11-20.
