Psalm 46:10, 11 (NIV): He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our strong tower.
Psalm 46:10,11 (KJV): Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Psalm 46:10,11 (NASB): “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.
Psalm 46:10,11 (Amplified Bible): Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah (pause, and calmly think of that)!
Have you ever received a revelation from the Lord in your “quiet time”, and instead of resting in it, basking in it, “marinating” in it; you start trying to figure it out; you try to start implementing it?
The key is that you received it in your “quiet time”. Will God not also reveal to you What He, How He, When He and Where He will have you walk out this revelation. Matthew 17:1-13; Mark 9:2-13; Luke 9:28-36, is a good example of how we tend to behave in light of the revelations we receive from God. We immediately want to “package it” and “sell it” or in our ignorance, as in the last part of the above passages in Matthew and Mark, it shows us what happens when we misinterpret and wrongly handle revelation.
Believe me when I say this “Word” was spoken to me first because I have been guilty. Galatians 3:1-14. Not many of you should seek to be teachers. James 3:1,2.
Have you ever been inspired by someone’s testimony and walked away changed, “ruined forever for what you were (past) and not sure about how you should apply what you heard in your life (present) or how this will shape your life (future)? Don’t forget, “Seek you first the kingdom of God…” Matthew 6:25-34.
“Today” could mean more than one day. After all this person’s testimony could have been (and often is) years, decades-a lifetime in the making, fraught (filled) with highs and lows; failures and triumphs; no’s and yeses.
Jesus said in the garden of Gethsemane, “Father, not my will, but thine.” He is our “blue print”. If it was good enough for Him, it is good enough for us. Matthew 26:36-46; Mark 14:32-42; Luke 22:39-46.
May Your Kingdom come. May Your Will be done on earth (in me, in this situation, in relationships, in my family, in my church, in my city, county, state, country, in this world) as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV).
Question: Do we have ears to hear, eyes to see and hearts to understand. Will we ask God to give us ears to hear, eyes to see and hearts understand? 1 Corinthians 2:6-10; Isaiah 64:4.
It is a step by step, day to day journey to the finish line. Galatians 3:1-14; Acts 20:24; 2 Timothy4:6-8; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.
