INTRODUCTION
This Post is quite lengthy, but it is so important that I knew that I had to include everything that I believe Holy Spirit was saying to me. It is important that we understand what it is to be a servant. I have addressed servanthood in the past, but we need to have a deeper understanding of servanthood in these last days as never before. I received my confirmation when I attended a gathering this past Saturday where the focus was on being a servant, and the very next day, at church, my pastor, you guessed it, spoke on being a servant.
Now, let’s look at the greatest example of what it is to be a servant from the Greatest Servant Of All, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Note: All scriptures will be from NIV unless otherwise stated. Some words may be capitalized for emphasis.
John 15:16,17: “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will LAST-and so that whatever you ask in my name (Amplified Bible: as presenting all that I AM) the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.”
2 Corinthians 5:14-6:2: For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that ONE died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for HIM who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old is gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s Grace in vain. For He says, “In the time of My favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, NOW is the time of God’s favor, NOW is the day of salvation.”
February 2, 2026: I was actually awaken before the alarm went off. I was crying out to God. I was in great turmoil because I was trying to accomplish something that seemed insurmountable. Finally He reminded me of a word He had given me through a dear man of God (who is now in the presence of the Lord). I was in the midst of an “earth shattering” situation. I was in my mid-twenties. This was the first time we had ever met each other. He was leading a new members class at a church that my husband and I started attending: After the first class, he asked me if I could stay a few minutes because he believed the Lord had a Word for me: “I believe that you are the kind of person who tries to do your best in everything you do. You just want people to understand that. This is what God is asking you today, “Are you willing to lose everything, knowing that you are exonerated by your Father in heaven? I knew I had no choice but to say, “Yes,” because it was more than a question. It was a challenge: “Will you choose to serve me, no matter what, or will you go your own way?” In John 6:60-71, after Jesus preached a message, a message I refer to as a “crossroad message”, John 6:66 says, “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.” When Jesus asked the Twelve if they wanted to leave also, Peter answered, “Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” Then Holy Spirit told me that Jesus was often misunderstood by everyone: 1) Mary and Joseph-Luke 2:41-52, 2) Siblings-Matthew 12:46-50; Mark 3:20,21, 31-35; Luke 8:19-21; John 7:1-5. 3) People in His hometown-Matthew 13:53-58; Mark 6:1-6; Luke 4:14-30. 4) Religious leaders-Matthew 22:15-22; Mark2:1-12; 12:18-27; John 9:1-34. 5) His own disciples-Matthew 8:23-27, 16:21-23, 19:13,14; John 14:1-14. But Jesus stayed in tune with His Heavenly Father.
The question that I believe Holy Spirit asked me was the following: “If the student is not above his master, what makes you think that you will not be misunderstood as well?” Matthew 10:24-31. I repented of my present struggle. I realized that the challenge of Holy Spirit, so long ago, wasn’t just for one incident. It was part of the call on my life, even before I was saved, and through this life to this present time at 71 years of age. I still want people to understand my heart, but they are NOT the Lord and Master of my soul. They did not create me in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13-18. I want to please Him. Matthew 25:21,23.
Jesus stayed in continual communion with Our Father in heaven and so must I. This commitment would lead Him to the cross, but it would not end there. He would be raised from the dead in three days, and the world would never be the same. The alarm went off at 8:00 am as I was repenting. I am at Peace and ready to face “Today”… Part 2 to soon follow.
