In light of The Greatest Servant of All Part 1, I want to share a song with you that literally changed my life some years ago. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It was so simple and yet so profound. For weeks I couldn’t get this song out of my mind-out of my heart.
The song is never far from me and Holy Spirit will uses it to encourage me, inspire me and spur me on to the next level when I am getting too comfortable, settling in a season too long. The Lord knows that I love my comfort zones, but comfort zones is NOT what He has called me to.
Jesus has called us to do what He has done in obedience to the Father, out of love for the Father. And what is that you might ask? Whatever the Father tells us to do. It is all wrapped up in loving the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength and (so we can) love our neighbors as ourselves. All the Laws and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. Matthew 22:34-40; Mark 12:28-34.
The song is, Where You Go I Go by Brian and Jenn Johnson. I am going to share the lyrics first:
Where You Go I Go-Brian and Jenn Johnson
Chorus: Where You go I go. What You say I say . What You pray I pray. What You pray I pray.
Verse: Jesus only did what He saw You do. He would only say what He heard you speak. He would only move when He felt You lead, following Your heart, following Your spirit.
Pre-Chorus: How could I expect to walk without You, when every move that Jesus made was in surrender. I will not begin to live without you for You alone are worthy and You are always good (Luke 18:18,19).
Bridge: Though the world sees and soon forgets, we will not forget who You are and what you’ve done for us.
